Loyalty Register

Methodology

How entries get in, and how they get ranked.

This site sells no loyalty software and takes no fee from any company it profiles. No entry can be bought, improved or removed by its subject. Every rule below is the actual rule applied by the scripts that build the register, not a description of one.

The rules

Six of them, applied without exception.

Programme and vendor profiles

Every entry was confirmed against at least one real source: the company’s own site, a category listing on an established review platform, a company record, a named-publisher listicle, or news coverage of a rename or acquisition.

No name was ever invented to reach a target count. The directory stops at what was confirmed.

Comparisons

A comparison page exists only where both conditions hold: both entities are already profiled here as live pages, and measured search data shows the pairing is actually searched.

The previous rule generated every possible pair, which produced 11,549 pages. 34 survived the evidence gate. The rest were removed rather than parked, because they do not become searched later.

Consultancies

A firm is admitted on page-one presence for two or more of six differently worded category queries.

One appearance is one editor’s listicle. A repeat across differently worded queries is the category agreeing. Analyst firms are excluded as a different entity class.

Member questions

One page per question shape per programme, admitted only where the programme is already profiled and the question carries measured search demand.

Navigational queries are excluded by class however large. A searcher looking for a programme’s login page wants that programme, not us.

Events and awards

Listed on merit, never on payment. Each carries the date it was last checked against the organiser’s own site.

An undated event listing is a guess. Where a date could not be confirmed, the entry says so.

Numbers

Every figure carries a source and a date, or it is not published.

Counts on this site are computed from the underlying records at build time, never typed by hand, because a hand-written count drifts from what it describes and nobody notices.

Scope

What the register currently holds.

1,676 pages across 21 page types.

217 Programmes profiled Same measures applied to every one
87 Vendors profiled On what they do, not what they claim
71 Decisions argued Each with what would change our mind
57 Learn modules How the economics actually work
745 Pages published Every one carrying its sources

Corrections

What happens when we are wrong.

A profile that is out of date is worse than one that is missing, because a reader has no way to tell. Entries carry the date they were last checked. Where a figure could not be confirmed, the page records the gap rather than filling it with an estimate.

If an entry about your company is wrong, the correction is free and does not require anything in return. That is the same answer whether or not you are ranked well.
